Approximately 38 miles
An excellent route with a wide variety of roads to suit all riding styles.
From CW Motorcycles turn LEFT out of the Great Western Industrial Centre, and go straight over at the traffic lights.
Follow the road through the S-bend to the 'Top of Town' roundabout, and straight over.
At the bottom of the hill turn RIGHT at Loder's garage. This is where the fun begins!
Once out of the village you can begin to explore the bike's torque as you head up the hill. This road is mainly open and lends itself to some speed, but be careful of hidden turnings, and look out for speed traps that frequently appear on the faster stretches...
The views from the top of the ridge above the Cerne Giant are amongst the finest in Dorset, well worth a brief stop to enjoy whilst you take stock of your demonstrator bike.
As you come down the hill towards Middlemarsh join the A352. The junction is oblique, and needs a good look over your left shoulder. From here the road is fairly fast and open, with some village sections that demand close attention to speed limits. Again, this is a favourite stretch for speed traps, so be vigilant!
The village of Longburton is especially beautiful, and sets the mood for your approach Sherborne. The descent to this ancient town offers superb views across the Blackmore Vale towards Yeovil on your left, and passes the turn to the picturesque Sherborne Castle on your right.
Once in the town, why not stop to explore? You'll find a good choice of high quality shops, and plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes for your refreshment.
When it's time to head back for CW take the A352 back to Middlemarsh. Now you know the road you can begin to explore the bike's potential further.
From Middlemarsh stay on the A352 towards Cerne Abbas. Just before the village there's a Lay-by and viewing point for the famous Giant on the hill to your left.
From Cerne head south towards Dorchester, joining the A37 briefly before heading up the hill around the Dorchester by-pass (RIGHT at the mini roundabout).
At the roundabout at the top of the hill take the SECOND EXIT and follow the by-pass down the hill. The impressive Maiden castle Hill fort will be on your right. At the 'football club roundabout turn LEFT towards the town. As you climb the hill the Tesco superstore will be on your right, and at the traffic lights at the top of the hill turn LEFT, then immediately LEFT AGAIN by the Ash Honda car dealership.
Sadly, this brings your test ride to a close, but hopefully you will be inspired enough to cut a good deal with Dave or Chris in the Sales Department on your return!
